Maria Therase Cucinotta was raised in a Sicilian-Australian household by three women, her grandmother, her aunt, and her cousin her own Maiden, Mother, and Crone. She did not see a photograph of her mother until she was thirty. She did not know her mother’s birthday until she was fifty-two. And she spent the decades in between searching for what had been taken across sacred sites on five continents.
Sacred Journey is the story of that search. From the silence of a Sydney childhood to the red earth of Uluru. From the black craters of Etna to the caves of Mary Magdalene. From the water of the Alhambra to the fire of a flamenco dancer in Córdoba. From the white-walled streets of Edinburgh where she discovered her mother’s father had been born to the escarpment and the ocean of the South Coast, where she finally sat down and wrote it all.

Not theory. Lived experience. From the very beginning.I lost my mother at the beginning.I spent decades in the descent. Through grief that had no name. Through the collapse of identities I had built to survive. Through the slow and painful reclamation of a self I had never been allowed to become. I did not choose this path. The path chose me the way the underworld always chooses the women it needs to transform.Along the way, I trained. In shamanic healing traditions. In transpersonal psychology, counselling, and coaching. In womb and feminine embodiment practices all over the world. In ancestral healing. In somatic bodywork. Not to add credentials to a biography, but because each modality gave me a piece of the map I needed to find my way back to myself.Everything before that point was preparation the descent, the stripping, the apprenticeship in darkness. Everything after has been the ascent carrying the torch for other women who are walking the same road.I am not offering self-improvement. I am offering what the underworld offered me: descent, integration, and sovereignty. The journey home to yourself through the wound, not around it.Maria Therase Cucinotta is a holistic counsellor, coach, and the founder of Divine Feminine Alchemy. She has travelled to sacred sites across five continents and has spent over two decades working with women who carry the mother wound, the father wound, and the grief of lives that did not go the way they were supposed to.She is the creator of the Sacred Journey coaching programme, the Heroine's Journey workshop series, and a suite of nine guided meditations. We did some work that helped me see how afraid I was of being a woman and my power and some gentle healing work on my womb. She then recorded some meditations I had to do every day for a month. I stuck with it and did this and from this so much came up and cleared relatively easily and effortlessly. As a result I have been able to be honest with myself that I actually do want to have a child and had given up on this idea due to my age. I now know it is possible and took positive steps with acupuncture and herbs to balance my hormones and prepare my body.
